Fundraisers We are always looking for suggestions for fundraising events. If you have an idea for a fun event, or wish to help organize a new event or one of our regular events below, please let us know. Ideas should be submitted in writing, addressed to the Board of Directors, and either mailed or brought in person to the shelter.
Mardi Gras Held in March, CJ's Mardi Gras is the party of the year! All ticket and bus stop proceeds are donated to the shelter. Thanks, CJ's!
We hold this fun off-season fundraiser at The Beach in downtown Moscow. Events include costume contests and a haunted house.
Our booth is now located in the craft area instead of the food area, and features delightful treats from our very own Dough for Dogs bakery. We also sell our special catnip, grown right here at the shelter. Other treats, toys, and goodies may vary from year to year.
This annual favorite is held at the Moscow Community Center (1912 Building). Volunteers serve soups and chili (including vegetarian), home made pies and beverages to hundreds of hungry lunch goers (for a nominal fee). Area businesses donate ingredients and paper products while members and volunteers provide pies, cook soup, serve and wait tables. Date TBA, contact shelter for details.
This is held the 4 weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas at the Palouse Mall in Moscow. Prizes are generously donated by area individuals and businesses. Donations are $1/ticket. Drawing for prizes is the last weekend of the raffle and you do not need to be present to win- we'll notify you. Displays and shelter animals also help acquaint the public with HSOP services.
End the swim season with your best friend at Moscow's public swimming pool, Hamilton Lowe Aquatic Center! For a small fee, your dog can swim and play off leash at the pool on the last day of the season before they close the pool for winter. Our first year was a huge success, with dogs and people alike having a blast.
